Residential Development: Linear House

A huge part of marketing home sites is showing what you could put on that home site.  I have been asked to develop some conceptual house designs in order to generate some enthusiasm for the new development in Montpelier.

The first is the "Linear House", rather generically named (at this point) because the spaces are arrayed along a single internal circulation datum - from one end to the other.  The house contains approximately 1,800 SF in 1 1/2 stories.

Some of the common priorities for these house designs:
  1.  compact, efficient planning
  2.  views of lawn/potential pool/children playing from all main spaces
  3.  dramatic, but cost-effective, street presence
  4.  traditional, changeable styling

This last point is important.  We intend that these houses can be easily manipulated to represent a very different character while retaining the interior layout and features that make it attractive.  So, for example, the following options could be presented for the Linear House:

These houses are not necessarily restricted to historic styling either.  While the interior layouts are definitely not historical, there will be an option or two that feels more contemporary on the outside too.

More houses to come.
